Obesity and Me

The Science Behind Obesity

This educational animation, developed in partnership with Solvd and Novo Nordisk, explores the science behind obesity as a medical condition, not a lifestyle choice. With around 70% of body weight influenced by genetics, the video explains how the brain’s appetite regulation system, which is shaped by evolution, is misaligned with today’s calorie-rich environment. The animation challenges misconceptions and emphasises that obesity is treatable with the right support.

Characterising Our Brain Chemicals

To bring complex science to life in a way that feels accessible and engaging, we combined dynamic visuals with metaphor-led storytelling. The animation explores the brain’s three-part appetite system: The Gatekeeper, The Go-Getter and The Executive to help make hidden processes feel familiar and easy to follow. Through clear narration and thoughtful design, we created a story that informs, reassures and encourages viewers to explore evidence-based treatment options with confidence.
