House of Lords

Introduction to the House of Lords

Explaining the Role of the House of Lords in UK Parliament

The House of Lords commissioned us to create a film that explains its role in the UK Parliament in a clear and accessible way. The objective was to move beyond public perceptions of traditions and ceremony and highlight the vital work that peers do in shaping, scrutinising and improving legislation. The film focuses on how members from a wide range of professions such as doctors, teachers, and charity leaders use their real-world experience to contribute to national debate, challenge the government and refine proposed laws through detailed examination.

Bringing UK Parliamentary Process to Life with Film

We produced an interview-led film presented by Baroness Gohir, a crossbench member of the House of Lords, whose clear and approachable style helps demystify the parliamentary process. Filmed inside the Lords chamber, the piece combines head-to-camera explanation with visually engaging motion graphic elements to guide viewers through how legislation is reviewed, debated and voted on. The final film helps increase public understanding of the House of Lords and its critical role in UK democracy.
