Freeformers

A Characterful Explainer Series

Bringing the Freeformers Proposition to Life

The Global Trade Analysis Project explores a new phase of globalisation, shaped by rising geopolitical risks, climate change, and rapid technological change.

They approached us to create an infographic animation that would clearly communicate The Economist’s future economic strategy. The animation needed to use a strong visual analogy to help explain the complex shifts in global trade, supply chains, and regionalisation in an accessible and memorable way for a wide audience.

Animation for Client Engagement

We created a series of five animations that built on Freeformers’ brand and illustration style, designed to clearly explain their value proposition. Simple, expressive character design allowed the focus to stay on key messages while still creating an engaging, relatable tone. We paid close attention to movement and personality to make the animations feel lively and human. To extend reach and usability, we also produced subtitled versions, GIFs and standalone illustrations, ensuring the content could perform across multiple channels and formats.
