Retelling Conservation Science through Comic books.
As part of our collaboration with Bangor University, we produced a series of illustrated comic strips to communicate complex conservation research in an accessible, culturally grounded way. Set across landscapes in Indonesia and Tanzania.
Each comic is designed for flexible use across presentations, reports, teaching, and social media, with versions available in English, Indonesian and Kiswahili. The illustrations are vibrant yet realistic, combining hand-drawn scenes with concise explanatory text.
Protecting local people and conservation efforts
We developed a series of visual assets in collaboration with Bangor University’s Conservation & Human Behaviour (ConHuB) research group to showcase how human behaviour directly impacts the success of conservation efforts worldwide. The first in the series is an animated film that explores the vital connection between human decision-making, environmental policy and biodiversity conservation.
Diving in deeper with report findings
Using an illustrative animation style, we combined field-inspired sketches, natural textures and human-focused storytelling to visualise complex social and ecological dynamics. Animated data points and carefully crafted scenes bring clarity to issues such as conservation compliance, community conflict and human well-being. Designed as a versatile science communication tool, the animation supports education, policy engagement and public awareness around global conservation challenges.
