Harmful Sexual Behaviour Support Service

Confronting Harmful Sexual Behaviour in Schools

South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) is a leading online safety charity, supporting individuals and organisations with tools, training and policy guidance to stay safe in the digital world.

SWGfL identified a growing issue in UK schools, child-on-child sexual harassment being dismissed as normal behaviour. In response, they launched the Harmful Sexual Behaviours Support Service to provide frontline training for professionals and direct support for young people affected by harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).

They asked us to create content that would raise awareness, explain HSB clearly and introduce the new service with sensitivity and impact.

Explaining HSB Through Clear and Inclusive Animation

SWGfL asked us to create two videos to explain harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) and promote their newly launched support service.

The first video is a 2D explainer animation designed for use on their website and YouTube channel. Using a minimal visual style and a diverse cast of characters, the animation breaks down what HSB is, why it matters, and how the service can help. The result is a clear, approachable resource that supports teachers, parents and young people in recognising and responding to HSB in schools.

Driving Awareness on Social Media

The second video was designed specifically for social media, using short, dynamic 2D animation to engage fast-scrolling audiences. Key messages around harmful sexual behaviour (HSB) were delivered clearly and quickly, making the content accessible and impactful. Each scene was created to work independently, allowing for flexible use across different platforms and formats. This modular design helped SWGfL maximise reach, raise awareness of their Harmful Sexual Behaviours Support Service, and deliver bite-sized content that supports online safety and safeguarding education.
