Moment of Joy: Sally’s Story

Using Animation to Amplify Impact

We partnered with MHA, a UK-wide charity dedicated to supporting older people, to produce an animated film for a nationwide awareness campaign. The goal was to highlight the powerful role of music therapy in dementia care, showcasing its emotional and cognitive benefits. MHA aimed to increase charitable donations through the campaign, enabling more older adults to access this transformative service and experience improved quality of life.

Emotive Storytelling Through Animation

In partnership with the MHA team, we developed a heartfelt narrative about Sally, an older woman living with dementia. Though able to express her needs, she often experiences anxiety and restlessness. Music therapy sessions featuring songs like Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable unlock joyful memories from her earlier life, offering calm and connection.

We used traditional frame-by-frame animation to give Sally’s story emotional depth and authenticity. The result is a powerful, shareable film designed to raise awareness, inspire donations, and support MHA’s mission to expand music therapy access during BBC Music Day and beyond.
