Banded Brothers

A cinematic film and animation for Fauna & Flora’s elephant conservation work in Guinea

We partnered with Matt Jarvis and Fauna & Flora to create a powerful film exploring the relationship between people and elephants in rural Guinea—and the innovative research helping to protect both.

Shot on location, the film blends cinematic footage with hand-drawn animation inspired by naturalist journals. This visual approach allowed us to bring research insights to life—showing how technology and local knowledge are working together to reduce conflict, and capturing moments that couldn’t be filmed, like the loss of Big John and Little John’s mother.

The result is a rich, emotionally grounded piece of environmental storytelling. A seamless collaboration of film and animation that makes complex conservation work accessible, human, and impactful
