RNA-Based Biocontrols

Communicating the Power of Nature-Based Biocontrol

Syngenta asked us to create an animation to explain their RNAi biocontrol technology, which targets pests like the Colorado Potato Beetle without harming pollinators or the environment. The challenge was to make complex science feel clear and engaging, while highlighting the solution’s environmental benefits. Our goal was to position RNAi as a precise, nature-based innovation that supports sustainable agriculture—showing how Syngenta’s work protects crops and ecosystems through a targeted, responsible approach to pest management.

Visualising Science Through a Natural Lens

To reflect the nature-inspired approach of RNAi, we created an animation with a hand-drawn aesthetic that feels fluid, organic and closely tied to the landscape.

Scientific content was simplified using clean visuals and minimal jargon to ensure clarity and accessibility for a broad audience. By grounding the animation in natural environments, we reinforced RNAi’s role as a precise, sustainable solution, one that supports agriculture while protecting ecosystems and biodiversity.
