The story of the Mava Foundation

Celebrating a Legacy in Global Conservation

The Mava Foundation has been a driving force in global conservation for nearly 30 years. Their philanthropic support and innovative approach have helped shape the conservation landscape as we know it today.

Ahead of their closing event, Mava approached us following a client recommendation to create an animation that would tell their story, celebrate their legacy, and live on through their final website. It was a privilege to be part of marking such a remarkable contribution to people and planet, and we were committed to creating something that felt timeless and true to Mava.

Illustration of a wetland at sunrise with buffalo, flamingos, ducks, and flying birds surrounded by grassy banks and tall trees.
Illustration of fishermen on boats in a calm bay, surrounded by mountains and birds flying overhead under a clear blue sky.

Painting a Legacy in Motion

To capture Mava’s 30-year journey in just three minutes, we worked closely with Nathalie Cadot, whose insight helped shape the narrative with care and authenticity.

Using archival photography, we faithfully illustrated Luc Hoffmann and his son André, placing them within a sprawling, hand-painted natural canvas that reflected Mava’s deep connection to people and place. Wide, inspiring scenes were paired with intimate close-ups to balance global impact with human scale.

The final animation was completed with a bespoke soundscape and produced in both English and French to reach a global audience.
