What is biodiversity?

Raising Awareness of Biodiversity Loss Through Engaging Visual Communication

Fauna & Flora International (FFI), a global wildlife conservation charity, approached us with a vital brief. Despite biodiversity loss being one of the planet’s most urgent threats, public understanding of the topic remains limited. FFI needed a clear, engaging explainer animation to answer two fundamental questions: what is biodiversity, and why does its loss matter? The goal was to spark awareness and encourage meaningful conversation by presenting this complex topic in an accessible and memorable way.

Creative Direction: Blending Collage and Conversation to Spark Action

We crafted a vibrant, collage-style animation that brings energy and clarity to the subject of biodiversity. By blending animated imagery with real-world footage, we created a rhythmic visual style that follows the tempo of the soundtrack and keeps viewers engaged from start to finish. Expert commentary featured throughout the video adds credibility and emotional depth, making the science personal and relatable. The result is an accessible, visually distinctive explainer designed to raise awareness and encourage vital dialogue around biodiversity loss.
