World Migratory Birds Day 2020
Challenge
World Migratory Bird Day is an annual global campaign to raise awareness of the threats to migratory birds environments form hunting, habitat loss and climate change.
The Like Minded was asked by Birdlife to increase empathy in the plight of birds by highlighting the challenges they face and the co-dependencies that birds and humans have.
Solution
We decided to create an animation without a voiceover or any explanatory text on screen to allow cognitive space for the viewer to focus on the story and to be engaged through active interpretation.
The animation features two interwoven stories of migration and connectivity to humanise the birds journey.
We utilised perspective changes and change of pace through transitions to add to the dynamic feel of the animation.
