Illumina came to us for help to spread awareness about whole-genome sequencing; a test that allows NICU staff to diagnose critically ill infants with underlying genetic causes.
The challenge for this project was to highlight the immense benefits of using whole-genome sequencing in the diagnosis of infants, comparative to the standard genetic testing systems currently in place.
Solution
Through the use of visual statistics we were able to emphasise how vastly more effective whole-genome sequencing is over standard testing, and how it benefits both the patients and medical teams. By visually demonstrating the variations in timings, methods and expenditure, the difference in the two tests are made abundantly clear.
As this is a sensitive subject to address, it was important that this animation induced a feeling of optimism; the orange background was intentionally chosen to reiterate this message and evoke feelings of hope.
