RNA-Based Biocontrols Animation
Challenge
Syngenta approached us to make an animation to explain some of the innovative work coming out of their biocontrols division. In particular, their RNAi solution that find answers in nature allowing specific insects such as the Colorado Potato Beetle to be targeted but beneficial insects and pollinators to be left unharmed; with no damage to the surrounding environment. The challenge was to communicate the science and potential in a way that also brought to the centre its environmental potential.
Solution
We created a hand drawn animation feel to make the style and motion feel organic in line with the messaging of the animation. The Science is presented with simple visuals and the avoidance of as much jargon or technical language as possible. Where possible the animation is anchored by the landscape and environment to draw attention to RNAi as a solution found in nature and sympathetic to nature.
