Trillion Trees

As part of a wider campaign for Birdlife, that included an animation, we created this infographic for the launch of their new website. The design depicts the eco structure of the tree as a literal image and a visual explanation for the complex network of solutions required to achieve their goals.

Evans Cycles

Evans Cycles is the UK’s leading specialist bike retailer and in 2021 is celebrating 100 years since their establishment by F W Evans in his original shop in Kennington Road in London.

Throughout that time they’ve been at the heart of UK cycling; from original hand built F W Evans frames through to their modern in house bike brands Pinnacle and Hoy, and the thousands of UK cyclists that have worked, shopped, and ridden with them. Having created a feature advert for their Centenary we were asked to create an infographic showing the history of the company with key milestones along the way.

Overview Animation

Challenge

Recognise Bank is a relationship led bank for small-medium enterprises in the UK. Recognise Bank’s teams are based in regional hubs to ensure that they have enough local knowledge to form great relationships with their clients. Recognise Bank approached us to help them share their story.

Solution

We created an animation that tells their story in a colourful and interesting way. Recognise Bank wanted to show how the traditional banking system can be complicated and lengthy, so we made sure to focus on Recognise Bank’s unique quality; putting the human touch back into banking.

What is Unconscious Bias?

Challenge

Changing Faces, a leading charity supporting people with visible disfiguration or differences, wanted to explain unconscious bias in education in an interesting and informative way.

Many children with visible differences face discrimination and often underachieve at school. This is a subsequent result of unconscious bias in the classroom.

Solution

We created an animation to explain what unconscious bias is, and how it effects behaviours in the classroom. The animation is aimed at schoolteachers and it features examples of how teachers can be unconsciously biased towards children who look different.

The animation will help to create inclusive and welcoming schools and classrooms, free from bullying.

IIED: Climate Change Loss & Damage Series

Play Video

Introduction to series

The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) approached us with an idea to give a voice to young climate activists in some of the least developed countries in the world. These individuals are powerful advocates for their countries and the loss and damage their countries are experiencing from a climate change they have not created.

Working directly with Gladys, Solomon, Gabriel and Ineza we were able to create a powerful series of animations that are authentic, create global engagement and have a clear call to action.

Each animation has a custom designed music score, feature the voices of the activists and a reveal from film to animation at the conclusion of the video.

Solomon Islands - Pijin

The use of Pijin was identified as an important requirement of the project. Many native Pijin speakers in The Solomon Islands do not fully understand the reasons behind climate change and what they can do improve the life changes of their families. Pijin enables community outreach and the education of all.

RNA-Based Biocontrols Animation

Challenge

Syngenta approached us to make an animation to explain some of the innovative work coming out of their biocontrols division. In particular, their RNAi solution that find answers in nature allowing specific insects such as the Colorado Potato Beetle to be targeted but beneficial insects and pollinators to be left unharmed; with no damage to the surrounding environment. The challenge was to communicate the science and potential in a way that also brought to the centre its environmental potential.

Solution

We created a hand drawn animation feel to make the style and motion feel organic in line with the messaging of the animation. The Science is presented with simple visuals and the avoidance of as much jargon or technical language as possible. Where possible the animation is anchored by the landscape and environment to draw attention to RNAi as a solution found in nature and sympathetic to nature.
