Lost Words of The English Language
We were listening to a radio show yesterday in which a study by Lancaster University and Cambridge University Press was mentioned. This study focussed on words that are ‘dying’ out from our spoken language.Four of these ‘endangered’ words:
The suggested cause for the loss of these words from our everyday conversations was attributed to us becoming more americanised as a nation. So if you’re feeling like upholding some British linguistic traditions, be sure to tell everyone that you ‘saw a marvellous catalogue a fortnight ago’ Cheerio.
